Emeritus Professor of Psychological Science at Boise State University, Dr. Honts maintains a private consulting practice. He testifed as an expert witness more than 150 times.
Professor Honts received his Ph. D. In Psychology at the University of Utah.
After Utah Dr. Honts spent two years with the Department of Defense Polygraph Institue (now NCCA) as a research team leader.
In 1990 Dr. Honts returned to academics by joining the faculty of the University of North Dakota .
In 1995 Dr. Honts joined the Psychology faculty at Boise State University where he maintained an active research laboratory in Psychology and Law until 2021. Professor Honts' research focused on credibility assessment with adults and children and on confession and false confession phenomena.
